Playtex Targets Over 50s

Whilst many brands target the younger end of the market, with Calvin Klein even releasing a children’s underwear range, Playtex is going against the trend as it targets over 50s.

The 45+ market accounts for almost 50 per cent of total lingerie sales and Playtex has taken the decision to re-establish themselves in this marketplace. The first step of their campaign features a 49-year-old mother of three Gaby Muller who was chosen after an international search of thousands of women to model the range.

Marketing Manager Marica Carleschi stated: “We decided to look for a real woman rather than a celebrity to model our styles as we’re selling everyday solution pieces. Gaby is relaxed, natural and looks gorgeous.
