Miss Somerset House says goodbye to London Fashion Week and takes a look at the fashion winners and losers.
I am like this every year. After running around completely out of breath for five days, cursing the prices at the Admiralty, falling over on slippery marble and hating every minute of it, two days later I feel the void of no more LFW. I mean there is always Paris but it is so business, business, business.
So, what will I miss about LFW? Catching up with Kenya Cretegny from Apartment C, Kathryn from Kathryn Rolfe and Clare from Boudiche was a hoot. The Boudoir event had more cocktails than you can shake a stick at and really made up for an amazing evening. I am not sure the world was ready to see me limbo but what the hell, four gin brambles and I’m anyone’s.
I will miss the disastrous outfits on show, too. My prediction for lingerie being worn as outerwear came true. Some got it wrong and others got is so right. The delectable Erin O’Neil (one of the press assistants) looked amazing in a Kiki de Montparnasse hosiery body, showing of her slender frame to perfection. Felicity Ives from Feet Fairies was balancing her gorgeous, curvy figure with accentuated shoulders. These were so in Vogue that, on the Sunday, no less than three girls turned up in the same style frock
There were, however, some unforgivable crimes against fashion. I am all for diversity but if you are a size 16+ then mesh skirts and too much milky bingo wing on show is simply not the done thing! But then what’s LFW without a few fashion disasters?
