Hannah discovers the benefits of having a Contour Fashion Degree and is thinking about what she is going to do after her MA course. Busy covering London Fashion Week and fitting bras, she has been making the most of every minute of every day.
Over the past few days I have found out that it’s really useful to have a First in Contour Fashion. Not only has it helped me with my new MA work (I have covered all of the fashion history before) but my friends are benefiting from their own personal bra consultant. I have never fit so many people’s bras in my life - not even when I was designing and fitting lingerie at university. Actually, I have thoroughly enjoyed being taken to all of the shops (even if my feet were starting to hurt) and eyeing up the latest designs. The bonus being that by the end of the week all of my friends are happy with their perfectly fitted lingerie.
Everything is going rather well for me at the moment. I have got used to my MA course and I am enjoying the fashion theory reading. I have even started to look at different jobs to apply for when I finish. I remember doing professional practice in Contour Fashion, which taught us to have an aim at the end of the university degree, like a job or an MA. I reckon it keeps you sane when the final major workload hits you, as you know it will all be worth it in the end. The trouble I’m having at the moment is what job to pick. I have even started a notebook to jot down ideas of what I want to do.
At least this summer I won’t have to pack up all of my university things - that’s the major plus of driving into university every day from home. So, on a positive note, things can only get better. I have been super busy writing articles, particularly for London Fashion Week (where I somehow ended up being interviewed for a TV show, even though I was meant to be covering the event) but I would rather be super busy and enjoying what I do than sat around bored. I’m making the most of every minute of every day and don’t intend to stop anytime soon (well, except for the spa day I have booked for next week).
